kaam · kerala as a model

We built a model, so it can be built again.

Kerala as a Model (KaaM) is the formula, the approach and the ten year sequence, written down as something another region can follow. What worked here was not the place. It was the order.

KaaMKerala as a Model

01 — the core formula

Three things, in order.

Nothing in the formula works alone. The ground comes first, the people next, and the innovations only after both exist.

the ground

01

Infrastructure

Places to build, close enough to walk to. A region cannot produce founders if the nearest room with a plug and a mentor is a district away.

the people

02
Talent

Talent

Technical ability found early and taught in the language the student already thinks in, not filtered by who could afford to move to a metro at eighteen.

the output

Innovation

Ventures started here and kept here, so that the value they create compounds locally instead of leaving with the founder.

The blueprint, in outline

  1. 01

    Read the region first

What a place already has, and what it is missing, decided in numbers rather than in a plan written elsewhere.

  2. 02

    Build the ground

Rooms close enough to walk to. Village parks, parks inside campuses, laboratories inside schools.

  3. 03

    Teach early, and locally

Technical ability found before eighteen and taught in the language the student already thinks in.

  4. 04

Keep the ventures where they started

The companies that follow are built and held in the region, so the value they create compounds there.

  5. 05

Fund it from more than one place

Five separate streams, kept apart, so no single one can stall the work by drying up.

  6. 06

Separate who builds from who keeps

A partner builds and operates, then transfers into the Foundation. The mission outlives the company running it.

  7. 07

    Bring the institutions in

The rooms sit inside schools, campuses and panchayats. They are partners in the build, not sites it happens to.

  8. 08

    Count what you built

Centres, students, ventures, all published as numbers, so the mission can be checked rather than believed.

  9. 09

    Sequence it over ten years

The order the pieces arrive in, and what has to be true before each one starts.

Take the model, and the help to run it

Donate between ₹1 million and ₹100 million to the mission, and we share the ten year blueprint and the model in full. We support the execution too, so what you build follows the same order that worked here.

Infrastructure. Talent. Innovation. In that order.
